With its medieval castle ruins and wildly romantic vineyards, the Wachau is one of the most impressive landscapes in the heart of Austria. The 36 km long section of the Danube has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a site of "outstanding and universal value". Melk Abbey is one of the most beautiful uniform baroque ensembles in Europe. Visitors can look forward to excitingly designed museum rooms, magnificent halls such as the Marble Hall and library, an unforgettable view of the Danube valley and the high baroque abbey church. The Abbey Park invites you to relax from May to October. The viewing terrace of the North Bastion offers a sweeping view of the park, the abbey buildings and the surrounding area. Change your perspective. Because only on board a boat can you experience the Wachau in its true entirety. During the leisurely journey, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the natural and cultural beauty of both banks. Travel relaxed on board the DDSG Blue Danube Schiffahrt through the World Heritage Site.
