Accordion Festival 2019 Montanaro - Cavez (B/F) / Klaus Paier & Asja Valcic (A/HR)

Montanaro - Cavez
The musicality and creativity of the Belgian accordionist Sophie Cavez - also known from the formation KV Express - and the French violinist Baltazar Montanaro complement each other ideally. Many years ago they set out as artistic soul mates with their instruments "to capture the winds of the North and the melodies of the South". What they make of it has the infectious appearance of a waltz that dances playfully and intensively around the globe. So far the duo has released three CDs, most recently "Le 3ème Temps" in 2015.

Klaus Paier & Asja Valcic
As a duo of unusually rich artistic substance and great creative dynamism, Klaus Paier and Asja Valcic have long since made an excellent name for themselves in the international jazz and world music scene, inspiring audiences and media with their subtle, original playing and high-class compositions. On three albums, "A Deux", "Silk Road" and "Timelss Suite", each with their own character, Klaus Paier - who recently also designed his own accordion ("Edition") - and Asja Valcic look back on so far. Before a new work is released in autumn this year, they will summarise the highlights of their duo work in a definitive "Best Of" programme.
