OVO,” Cirque du Soleil’s arena show, is a fast-paced, colorful and whimsical kaleidoscope of outstanding artistic perfection. The world of insects with its enormous diversity provides an ironic blueprint for what happens on stage, which is like a nest full of acrobatics and comedy. The large, contrasting crawling in dazzling costumes based on natural shapes and backdrops that form the habitats of a chaotic, diverse ecosystem is wonderful fun for the whole family. “OVO” is coming to Vienna from February 1st to 4th for 7 shows at Stadthalle D.
The audience plunges headfirst into a cosmos teeming with life. Loud, turbulent scenes alternate with quiet, emotional moments. A mysterious, large egg poses a mystery to all actors, artists and clowns with their insect disguises and characters.
“Ovo”, which means egg in Portuguese, is a timeless symbol that runs like a common thread through the spectacle. With all that is crawling and flying, love must of course not be neglected when the formidable ladybird discovers her heart for the lively, strange fly man. And as always with Cirque du Soleil, “OVO” is full of top artistic performances.
