Fainschmitz

Concerto magazine has called Fainschmitz’s music “entertainingly loud and provocatively humorous”. Fainschmitz’s music has energized audiences at jazz festivals as well as at techno parties, in concert halls, as well as on the street. Since 2016, these four classically-trained jazz musicians have toured Europe with their mix of Gypsy swing, chansons, jazz, pop and punk. Following 100 concerts, their debut CD, “Fainschmitz Begins”, was released in June of 2018. Radio Ö1’s Andreas Felber called it “THE Austrian jazz summer CD of the year”. Driven by rhythm guitar and a powerful bass, saxophone, trumpet and clarinet celebrate catchy melodies with rollicking solos, accompanied by multi-lingual lyrics blasting out of a megaphone. With skill, a brazen joy of playing, and cryptic lyrics, Fainschmitz creates an energetic music that one can both take and be carried away by. The band is on tour for all of 2019 and is expected to release their second album in the autumn of 2019
