Las Migas (Spain)

Las Migas are proof that flamenco is not only about dancing, but also about music. The four musicians uniquely blend flamenco with Latin American elements, pop and folk sounds and a jazzy note. Inspired by traditional flamenco, they go beyond its language. With two guitars, a violin, a cajón, their extraordinary voices and different experiences from flamenco, fado, jazz and habaneras, they succeed in creating a fascinatingly fresh mixture that makes them a welcome guest on the renowned Spanish stages as well as at festivals all over Europe.

The Sargfabrik is tucked away in the fourteenth district, well away from the usual tourist track. Built on the site of a former coffin works, it was conceived as a ‘communal self-governing housing project with an advanced cultural programme’

This is where world music in all its variety is at home. A huge range of musical groups play at the Sargfabrik every week.
What they all have in common is their individuality and the high standard of the performances.
