Mozart, Beethoven, Händel & more - Ruhrkohle Chor

Ruhr Coal Choir

The Ruhrkohle Choir from Essen is the largest miner's choir in Germany with over 100 active singers and was founded in 1987 as the choir of the German mining group of RAG AG. The motto "preserve what has shaped", the great passion and the perceptible will to stand up for the culture of mining make the choir what it is today: "unique"!
In addition to the mining songs, the choir also cultivates songs from the spiritual realm. Melodies from opera, operetta, musical, folklore from all over the world up to modern pop songs belong to its repertoire.

We are very pleased that the Ruhrkohle Choir will present part of its varied repertoire under the direction of our music director Harald Jüngst with outstanding soloists and the renowned organist in Vienna's Stephansdom.
