The RMO, the current Porgy&Bess stage band, is an 18-piece orchestra founded and directed by the Austrian composer Ralph Mothwurf. After the ensemble's international success and a sensational release of the debut album "ZELT" (Edition Ö1), this ensemble is now returning to its home club with a new line-up. Starting in September 2023, the RMO will not only present brand new music written by the composer on a total of 10 concert evenings, but will also collaborate for the first time with selected stars of the Austrian cultural scene. Look forward to guest appearances from Birgit Minichmayr, Elias Hirschl, Mira Lu Kovacs and many more.
During Advent, the RMO surprises with a special collaboration. Together with Birgit Minichmayr, a twenty-minute dialogue is created in which the spoken word is artfully interwoven with music. Minichmayr is one of the most famous actresses in Austria, is a member of the Vienna Burgtheater ensemble and has appeared in over 40 film and television productions. As a singer, she once again expresses her artistic diversity and impressive skills, including in music projects such as “As an Unperfect Actor”. For this concert evening, she will perform self-selected texts, set to music by Mothwurf, and breathe new life into them with her unique voice and performance.
