Symbio (Sweden)

With a convincing stage presence and the magical combination of hurdy gurdy and accordion, the duo draws their audience into intoxicating soundscapes with earthy grooves. In a playful dialogue full of energy and virtuosity, they show that two are far more than the sum of their parts. In their own compositions they tell personal and lively stories that connect them with the audience - musical narrative at its finest. At the Swedish Folk & World Music Awards 2016 Symbio was awarded "Best New Artist of the Year".

Johannes Geworkian-Hellman - hurdy-gurdy, Lars Emil Öjeberget - accordion

The Sargfabrik is tucked away in the fourteenth district, well away from the usual tourist track. Built on the site of a former coffin works, it was conceived as a ‘communal self-governing housing project with an advanced cultural programme’

This is where world music in all its variety is at home. A huge range of musical groups play at the Sargfabrik every week.
What they all have in common is their individuality and the high standard of the performances.
