“The Waltz King”: 101st Flower Ball of the Vienna City Gardens at Vienna City Hall

On January 17, 2025, the most colorful ball of the season takes place!
On Friday, January 17, 2025, the most beautifully adorned ball of the season will be held at Vienna City Hall: the Flower Ball! With 100,000 blossoms, the Vienna City Gardens will create an extraordinary sea of flowers for their ball. This year’s theme, “The Waltz King”, promises a floral prelude to the Johann Strauss Year 2025.

Dress Code: Elegant, festive evening attire

Ladies: Ball gown, long evening dress

Gentlemen: Tuxedo or dark suit, bow tie, gala uniform

Culinary Delights
Flower Menus before the Ball at the Vienna Rathauskeller

The exclusive flower menus will be served at the Vienna Rathauskeller, just a few minutes’ walk from the ballroom. These menus are only available in combination with a ticket.
In the refined atmosphere of the Rathauskeller, two menus will be offered before the ball from 6 PM:

Creamy parsnip soup with herb foam (vegan)

Braised beef shoulder in root vegetable sauce with homemade Bohemian dumplings

Quark soufflé with berry compote

Menu 2 (vegetarian and vegan, suitable for those with allergies)

In the Grand Hall, guests can dance to the sounds of the string orchestra led by Wolfgang Steubl and his Big Band. Modern rhythms are featured in the Coat of Arms Hall with Edelbitter Live Band, in the City Council Chamber with a Latino Workshop with DJ, and in the Volkshalle Ballroom with WannaDance?. Guests can also dance into the early hours of the morning at the disco with DJ Mike in the Friedrich Schmidt Hall.

Culinary Offerings

The Vienna Rathauskeller delights its guests with a selection of fine dishes and beverages available in the restaurant, multiple sparkling wine stands, a snack bar, a cocktail bar, a wine bar, and a café located near the Festive Staircase. Payment is accepted in cash or by card at all gastronomic facilities.
