Amina Figarova was born in Baku (Azerbaijan) and studied classical piano. This was followed by jazz training at the Rotterdam Conservatory, which she completed in the USA at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Today she lives in New York.
In Vienna she presents the album "Blue Whisper", Amina Figarova's deeply personal, very impressive reactions to social unrest, but also to the unmistakable personalities she has encountered. Her music is characterized by her classically grounded training, soft melodies, luminous harmonies, often understated but always driving rhythms. She is accompanied by a true all-star band. PORGY and BESS Jazzclub
Porgy & Bess (actually, Jazz and Music Club Porgy & Bess ) is a jazz club in the Riemergasse 11 in the 1st district of Vienna. The club , founded in 1993 is considered " the most important jazz organizer and trendy meeting point " of the Austrian capital .
