Ostinato's new program is earthy and fiery: the band led by Tommy Böröcz and Rens Newland performs instrumental versions of the groovy tunes of the legendary and brilliant band "Earth, Wind & Fire". This group invented the cultivated and rich "jazzy" funk and influenced many musicians over the decades. Miles Davis, for example, described EWF as his all-time favorite band, quote: "They just have everything..." and Quincy Jones declared himself to be the biggest fan of "Earth, Wind & Fire" since day one. So we also hear ostinato tunes inspired by E, W & F!

Interestingly, a version of a No.1 hit by the long-forgotten Dutch group Earth & Fire (1970 - 1983) will also be featured!

Guest vocalist on some of the concert's tracks is Peter Duke, who has just recorded a few tracks for Mr. Newland for his funky blues album "Still Waiting for Better Times", which will be released in autumn 2024. Certainly not an evening to sit still! (Rens Newland)
