Eleven musicians from Peru, Spain and Austria under the direction of Edgar Lliuya and Eberth Alvarez, both from Peru, founded a salsa orchestra in 2014. Salsa is the main reason for playing together, and a collegial friendship has developed between people and artists from different backgrounds. Professional and amateur musicians come together. The result was a salsa community around Tumbalao. TUMBALAO plays the "SALSA DURA" style, which is characterized by a strong brass section (trombones, trumpets, sax), e.g. piano and percussion solos (timbales) and energetic musical arrangements. The repertoire includes cover songs from the golden age of salsa. Who doesn't know Lloraras by Oscar de Leon or Las Caras Lindas by Ismael Rivera. Successful songs such as Etnia by Grupo Niche and Un Verano en Nueva York by El Gran Combo. The quality, as well as the joy of the musicians while playing, is immediately picked up by the audience and the performance turns into a fiery dancing pleasure.
