Working with an international focus and the highest quality has been a given for the Gerald Gradwohl Group right from the start. With their sixth album “Episode 6”, the quartet celebrates instrumental fusion music with its own special touch at an impressive compositional and improvisational level. In addition, guitarist and composer Gradwohl always fills his band with exquisite musicians who, in addition to exceptional instrumental skills, also bring their mature musical taste and creative desire to the highest degree in concerts and recordings. As a composer, Gradwohl creates a field of communication with stylistically broad, sophisticated instrumental tunes that creates variety and challenge for the live encounter with an ongoing recording setup. Leader Gradwohl has always chosen this approach as a proven and sustainable means of keeping the interaction fresh and agile. On this basis, the musicians' intuition and spontaneous reactions have condensed into a sleepwalking exchange and an organic and highly dynamic band sound. When designing the pieces, Gradwohl did not fail to weave in and process influences and emotions from the Corona year 2020. With the greatest dynamism and intimacy in music and extra-musical meaning, Gerald Gradwohl, Thomas Kugi, Juraj Griglak and Harald Tanschek prove that they have formed an exceptional instrumental ensemble that creatively combines artistic intuition with the emotions of current living environments. The GG Group shines through stylistic diversity and presents a kaleidoscopically creative firework of musical ideas - a wide spectrum and large field between jazz and fusion, which is characterized by groovy funk with rock and metal influences on the basis of modern jazz harmony.

Dynamic original compositions, whether composed or improvised, are provided with a large portion of funk & rock in the themes and detailed solo contributions - exciting music that seduces not only listeners from the jazz and fusion camp to actively, enthusiastically listen.

The new album “Raw” is exciting, touching and thrilling. From the first to the last note, Gradwohl is able to captivate the listener in a virtuoso manner and to delight him with variety and inventiveness over a playing time of more than seventy minutes. It's the creative splash of color we've been longing for in this gray November, and one of the hottest contenders for the title of "Album of the Year 2016". (press release)
