Marina and The Kats

With their mix of modern indie sounds and classic swing, they have been delighting fans all over the world since the release of their debut album “Small”. An exciting dynamic emerges that appeals to both those who have a penchant for the nostalgic and those who are looking for new sounds. In short: a captivating mix of old and new that sounds familiar and fresh at the same time.

If you don't know M&TK yet, you've firstly missed something and secondly you should know the following: three of the four band members actively play drums or share a set. The “shared drums” concept has become their trademark in recent years and contributes significantly to the band’s completely independent sound. The rhythmic component comes to the fore in the music, but without causing monotony. The music still impresses with melodies that don't want to leave your head, unexpected harmonic twists and imaginative implementation that makes you completely forget that there are only four people on stage.

M&TK is a “working band”. They write songs with depth, produce and arrange and tour all over Europe without succumbing to any trend or fad. Lyrically, Marina also turns to unpleasant and personal topics on “Friendly Fire”, such as pressure to succeed, getting older, constant evaluations and fears. But don't worry, hope is not lost yet.
