Scott Matthew

With a new album under his belt, Scott Matthew will go on tour again in October 2024. The Australian singer/songwriter is accompanied by his two long-time musicians Marisol Limon Martinez on piano and Jürgen Stark on guitar. He is currently still in the studio in his adopted home of New York to put the finishing touches on the recordings of his second album of cover versions.

Anyone who has ever experienced one of these moving Scott Matthew concerts knows of the tradition of usually ending the set with a cover song and leaving the stage. Or as Scott himself describes these encores: “These songs are like old friends, some of whom I grew up with and who gave me comfort and support in special life situations.”

In 2013 he released his first encore collection of covered favorite songs with the album Unlearned (Glitterhouse/Indigo).

For his new work he will once again work out the emotional core of “Old Friends” with a lot of love and empathy and translate it in a new and touching way using his distinctive voice and the sparsest instrumentation. The track list and the album title remain secret, only this much has already been revealed: world-famous pop hits will be represented on the new album and its set list for the upcoming concerts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in October 2024, as well as one or more Soul classics and previously largely undiscovered musical gems.
