Work on LIMINAL ZONE began in 2016. The idea behind this was to create a framework for all my musical ideas in which everything could be combined with everything across all genre boundaries and new things could constantly emerge. An imaginary creative space in which anything should be possible and in constant change.

Eight years later, LIMINAL ZONE has grown into something I never thought possible. With Caramel, Chrome and Azure, three great, completely different individual projects. Plus the record label, our own and curated concert series, a network of young electronic artists who refine my music in their own way, as well as lots of collaborations and concepts to create new, future-oriented infrastructure for the musical space.

LIMINAL ZONE has become a shimmering, constantly evolving creative organism. So time to celebrate something and present new music under the motto “Imagine Dignity”. A new duo and the first samples of a huge concert cycle that will be released in 2025 are on the program.

Subtle intimacy at eye level, paired with what feels like endless harmonic and tonal possibilities - I couldn't describe the duo with pianist Verena Zeiner better. Verena chooses every note and every chord with such care and emotional intelligence that I have rarely experienced. Making music with her is a mixture of attentive listening and supporting each other, but also a little different

familiar and just always beautiful. Together we play the first "Non-Eternals", songs without words that deal with music's greatest ability: to emerge from silence, to bring our attention into the here and now for a moment, to briefly touch us emotionally and then back again to disappear into the silence.

CARAMEL was the first of the three musical LIMINAL ZONE siblings. The idea was to create a new, unheard-of overall sound far away from any stereotyped thinking with the unconventional line-up of coloratura soprano, low clarinets and a trio of piano, bass and drums.

CARAMEL mixes the influences of jazz, neo-classicism, minimalism and film music, which have had the strongest influence on me for years. A passionate story, laid out like the soundtrack of an imaginary film, which gradually gently envelops us all to inspire our imagination.
