Four Hands, One Piano
A musical journey from a quiet musical conversation to a magnificent sonic experience:
Inspired by tales from the Orient, Robert Schumann indulges in the enchanting world of his Pictures from the East. Cécile Chaminade, one of the most successful composers of her time, transports us with her Six Pièces romantiques to the elegant salons of Paris, where music was both a social pleasure and an artistic delight. Moritz Moszkowski’s Spanish Dances then set the stage alight: fiery rhythms and a hint of castanets bring Spain vividly to life. Emmanuel Chabrier adds a touch of humour with his Cortège burlesque — a musical carnival procession full of unexpected turns and comic moments. The grand finale is Ernst von Dohnányi’s Waltz, Op. 3, whose spirited elegance evokes the great Viennese dance tradition.
The crypt maintains a comfortable temperature throughout the year.
