After the successful kick-off in 2025, the Longines Global Champions Tour of Vienna will be extended in the fall of 2026. Visitors can look forward to a top-class show jumping tournament against the unique backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage Schönbrunn Palace. History, culture and top sports meet again and make the hearts of local and international horse fans beat faster. Exciting competitions and a supporting program for the whole family are pre-programmed at the "Queen Class of Equestrian Sports".

Longines Global Champions Tour

The Global Champions Tour (GCT) is an international show jumping series at the highest level (CSI 5*) that has existed since 2006. It was initiated by the Dutch Olympic champion Jan Tops, with Athina Onassis as former patron. The goal of the series is to let the best riders in the world compete with each other in exclusive venues.

As early as 2007, all stages were advertised as CSI 5* - the highest category in show jumping - with prize money of up to €300,000. Thanks to partners such as Eurosport, Rolex, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Longines, the GCT developed into a globally marketed tournament series with live broadcasts at European prime time.

In 2008, the tour received official recognition from the FEI (Fédération Équestre Internationale). Later, a highly endowed final was added, which was one of the most lucrative exams in the world in 2009 with € 900,000 in prize money. Despite economic crises, the GCT remained stable thanks to flexible distribution of prize money and strong sponsors.

In 2014, McCourt Sports Limited (McCourt Global) acquired 50% of the shares, which passed to Tennor Holding in 2020. With venues such as Doha, Monaco, Paris and New York City, the Global Champions Tour is now considered one of the most glamorous and highly endowed series in international show jumping.
